Edgar Brothers partners NRA to supply set of customised Savage Model 12 F/TR rifles for training and hire fleet

The National Rifle Association (NRA) of the United Kingdom has been furnished with a set of 20 custom-built Savage rifles in a new partnership with leading UK firearms distributer Edgar Brothers.

After a period of extensive testing performed by NRA instructors, the Savage Model 12 F/TR in .308 was unanimously selected as the governing body’s rifle of choice for its training and hire fleet. Consequently, Edgar Brothers has supplied a quantity of Savage Model 12 F/TRs in .308 customised to suit the NRA’s needs with a retro-fitted Palma stock.

The agreement means all shooters passing through an NRA training course from now on will experience for themselves the out-of-the-box accuracy that the Savage Model 12 is renowned for while also providing Edgar Brothers with more exposure for the iconic American firearms brand it has been working with for six years.

Lisa Riley, director at Edgar Brothers, said: “Just like watching the F Class competitions at Bisley, it was a nail-biting test of performance that concluded with the NRA choosing the Savage Model 12 as their on-site training and hire rifle. As Savage themselves claim, winning sometimes really is everything, and were proud to support the NRA’s initiatives when it comes to training, accuracy and overall experience. The Savage Model 12 really is an outstanding product and this partnership gets them into people’s hands and hearts.”

Designed for unparalleled accuracy at extreme distances, thanks to a user-adjustable Target AccuTrigger for a personalised trigger pull, the Model 12 F/TR’s 30-inch, full-profile stainless steel barrel is button rifled and perfectly balanced with the wood laminate stock. The 12 F/TR also includes an oversized bolt handle and single-shot Target Action.

David Camp, NRA national training manager, said: “We are extremely pleased to be working with Edgar Brothers and to have taken delivery of the Savage rifles. This is a positive step towards ensuring that our students have access to the same firearms throughout their training and familiarise themselves with them. These firearms not only look fantastic, but they are packed with features that make them ideal training rifles.”

The advertised price of a Savage Model 12 F/TR from Edgar Brothers starts at £2,999.
