The cookies we set and why

This website http://shootingsports.edgarbrothers.com/ is owned and operated by Ian Edgar (Liverpool) Ltd.

When someone visits, we collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out such things as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. We collect this information in a way which does not personally identify anyone.

When we do want to collect personally identifiable information - for things like our newsletters - we will be upfront and honest about this and fully explain what we intend to do with it.

Most web browsers allow some control of most cookies through the browser settings. To find out more about cookies, including how to see what cookies have been set and how to manage and delete them, visit www.allaboutcookies.org.

Cookies are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide information to the owners of the site and to help deliver adverts correctly.

The information below explains the cookies we use, why we use them and when they are set.

Cookies set by Google Analytics

Google analytics information allows us to see how people are using the site (how many people visit, how long people spend on each page, where people go and other site usage information). Google has access to that information if you are signed into Google as you browse. We can only see 'aggregated' results, that is, we can't identify individual people from their browsing session.

Cookies set by us

When you browse the web, each page is completely disconnected from the others: each page request is served by the server, which then forgets everything about the request. In some cases, such as when you have 10 pages of search results or when you are logged in, it’s helpful to carry information from page to page. So the server sets a session cookie that lets it remember, amongst other things, what is in your shopping basket or which page of search results you are on. This is called a ‘session’ cookie.

ASP.NET_SessionId – Deleted when you close your browser (or after 20 minutes).

To keep track of items that you’ve added to your wishlist, we set a cookie.

Wislis – Deleted when you close your browser (or after 20 minutes).

To remember your accessibility settings from page to page, adjustments to the font size and low graphic style are remembered by the site. This creates the following cookies:

  • styleSheetState – 14 days
  • currentFontSize – 14 days
  • style – 1 day
